A day in the life of an unhinged millennial…

Finally, almost a week after the day in question, I am getting round to writing this post!

It’s going to be a pretty boring read, I mean no one can have a perfectly exciting day, can they?

So without too much foreplay, here is a day in my life.

7:00 am:  Alarm went off at 7 am like every morning, I opted to remain in bed as late as possible, like every morning.  So I got up around 7:45 am.

7:45 am:  The boring bits…I showered, brushed my teeth and got dressed, nothing overly exciting.

8:30 am:  I had a lash lift booked at 9 am and took the opportunity to walk down to the salon to get this done.  I am lucky enough to have a gorgeous walk down into the village and it was 30 minutes of walking, listening to music and just being out in nature, which for me is just bliss!

9:00 am:  I arrived for my lash lift, the girls at Soothe Day Spa are literally the loveliest and always so welcoming!  I was getting a lash lift, which for those who do not know about this is like a perm for the eye lashes, and honestly it’s an hour where I just get to chill and disconnect from the world!

10:00 am:  I paid up and it was time to walk back home. I did consider going to the gym, but it was so hot that I decided that would be misguided. At least that is what I tell myself!

10:30 am: I got home, was very disappointed to discover I still had 4000 steps to get and set about getting on with my day. First things first I had to get some air flowing in the house, so I went up in the loft and opened the windows up there and then opened a few throughout the house (by 3 pm I regretted this decision as I had to go back up into the loft to close them). Check out the mess that is my loft! Not long after this I remembered to weigh myself and found that my weight was down a little – yay me!

11:00 am: So I would love to say I then consulted my To Do list and got on with everything I had promised myself I would do…but instead I decided to make some coffee soap with leftover expensive coffee grounds. It was pretty successful, so may start perfecting the recipe for future use! I also made a coffee and sugar scrub, which is okay but could potentially also be used as fake tan!

12:00 pm: This mild procrastination aside, I thought I best do something actually useful to humanity. so I seasoned 2 kg of chicken, and made very little mess, followed by filling the dishwasher. All of this was whilst listening to a podcast!

13:00 pm: Now is when my day started taking a turn for the worse. Those who know me will know my house is in a constant state of DIY, I decided on Tuesday that I would finally neaten up behind the TV on the media wall, a small job I was putting off (I mean I also need to grout the media wall but thats a job I will put off until the end of time). To do this I needed to pull out the TV and put up some strips of wood to support some acoustic panel and hide the cables. This started off really successfully, and then I pulled the TV out again (like the 5th time) and the HDMI cable to the speakers sheared and the speakers made a pop sound and they are no more. The £400 speakers we have had since March. My entire life flashed before my eyes and I spiralled, badly. I messaged Dave, who was completely unbothered by the entire thing, but for me it was too late, I was gone. This takes us pretty much until 5 pm. Not just because I spiralled, but because the speakers only broke at 3 pm, and I spent two hours sorting wires and doing the panels before this happened. UPDATE ON THE SPEAKERS: Richer Sounds have replaced them free of charge and the new ones should arrive this week – so a complete spiral for absolutely no reason! Panelling is up now though and looks much better than what it was.

At some point I this four hour time window I also fell down a well of looking at secondhand analytical instruments online, as one does… No idea why or how that happened to be quite honest!

17:00 pm: I cooked 2 kg worth of chicken, I do not have pictures of how I achieved this, but it was two trays of seasoned chicken and a lot of effort! We normally season for a few hours and then cook for 12 minutes on one side and 10 on the other on the CircoTherm Intense setting on our oven and it makes for the most beautiful chicken thighs! I felt bad about the speakers and Dave was busy so I made tea, we had some chicken, salad, halloumi, cottage cheese and also a high protein flatbread, this sounds like a huge amount of food, because it is, but I was fasting and annoyed so I needed to eat! Macros below!

After tea (apologies to anyone not from (the North of) England, when I say tea I am talking about my evening meal, not a cuppa) I did a bit of planning for work and watched TV, and got my last few steps in.

And that, in all summarises my day, video compilation of the pics and vids to come at a later date, because I am honestly done with thinking today!

I highly doubt this was an enjoyable read, honestly, it is the worst bit of writing I have ever seen!

Let me know what you think though, let me know what you want to see in future!

Lot of Love!
